At least two gangsters accused of legendary Hip-Hop artist Sidhu Moose Wala’s murder have been killed in Punjab. The gangsters, Mandeep Singh alias Toofan of Batala and Manmohan Singh alias Mohna, were kept under detention in Goindwal Sahib Central Jail in Punjab’s Tarn Taran district.
As per the Senior Superintendent of Police Gurmeet Singh Chauhan, a clash ensued between the prison inmates over “some matter” and it resulted in a full-blown brawl. Amidst the fight in Punjab’s high-security prison, Toofan and Mohna succumbed to injuries and were reportedly killed shortly after.
Mandeep Singh alias Toofan and Manpreet Singh alias Mani Rayya were arrested last year from Amritsar. As per the chargesheet, both of them were the main shooters of the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang.
As per the report, Toofan & Rayya were assigned the infamous responsibility to murder Moose Wala. However, they failed to do so because of heavy security around the late emcee at all times. Mohna, another accomplice in Moose Wala’s murder conducted the recce of Moose Wala in January and February last year. The Mansa-born rapper was shot on May 29th 2022 and died on spot.
Sidhu Moosewala was and continues to be one of the biggest hip-hop artists to emerge from India and has worked with numerous artists on top-selling rap records. Providing a sound that’s affecting and ghetto, the young emcee rose to global stardom with his music before he was shot dead in May last year.
Moosewala’s studio albums ‘PBX1’ and the star-studded ‘Moosetape’ were two of the biggest-selling records in Indian hip-hop history. With a strong line-up of guest appearances from Divine, Tion Wayne, Stefflon Don, Rajakumari and more, as per many, Moosewala elevated the Indian hip-hop scene like no other.
Rest in Peace to Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu or ‘Sidhu Moose Wala’ – the greatest emcee to ever do it.
