Harlem’s legendary emcee and high fashion cult A$ap Rocky, real name Rakim Myers, has allegedly dissed Houston’s iconic rapper and record producer Travis Scott.
The A$ap Mob bossman, who recently shut down Rolling Loud Miami, appeared to “throw shade” at Scott by premiering an unreleased rap record from his highly anticipated forthcoming album “Don’t Be Dumb”.
Interestingly, Rocky himself headlined Rolling Loud’s second leg in the U.S. this year alongside the “Whole Lotta Red” emcee Playboi Carti and Travis Scott. The alleged flagrant diss involves the legendary woman emcee and singer Rihanna too. Reportedly, Rihanna was involved in a relationship with La Flame before Lord Flacko.
“First you stole my flow, so I stole yo b***h/Then you stole my style I need at least like 10 percent,” Rocky can be heard saying on the mic. Watch it below.
However, this isn’t the first time that the “Goldie” rapper has criticised Scott for imitating him in music and high fashion. Last year, Rocky spoke at length about his impact on “style” and “flow” in rap music at Drink Champs podcast by Revolt TV.
During that sitdown with DJ EFN and N.O.R.E., Rocky stated that Scott stealing his flow and style sounds “petty” to him and he’ll rather “let the people decide”.
“You’re hearing it from me, let shorty rock, and let the people decide if he a biter or if he authentic. I’m not saying everybody should be allowed to just take [from] whoever got going on. I’m not implying that. I feel like that whole situation sound petty,” Rocky said during the interview.
“It don’t matter. That sh– trash now,” Rocky further said hinting at staying a step ahead of Scott at the time.
Notably, Rocky and Scott are gearing up for their fourth forthcoming albums “Don’t Be Dumb” and “Utopia” in that order.
During his headlining set in Miami, Scott made two crucial announcements about “Utopia”. Reportedly, Flame’s fourth LP is slated to release this Friday alongside his film debut with “Circus Maximus”. The major releases will be followed by Scott himself premiering the album at the historic Pyramids of Giza in Egypt.
Most recently, Scott teamed up with The Weeknd and Bad Bunny on Boi-1Da-produced lead single “K-Pop”.
For Rocky, the hard-hitting “Long.Live.A$ap” rapper returned with “Don’t Be Dumb” LP’s sophomore single “RIOT (Rowdy Pipe’N)” last Friday.
Produced by Long California’s marquee record producer and Louis Vuitton’s Menswear Director Pharrell Williams, the record serves as the follow-up to “Same Problems?”.
Later today, Rocky will premier the “Riot (Rowdy Pipe’N) music video.
