Chicago’s top-tier Grammy-winning rapper and songwriter Lil Durk, born Durk Derrick Bank, has returned with a massive new single. Titled “Went Hollywood For A Year”, the cathartic rap record is produced by Hip-Hop superproducer Southside and captures the OTF founder addressing and apologising for his absence from Chicago streets & his family.
“I refuse to say I’m sorry, that’s how I was raised, I’m actually damaged
I don’t speak to DayDay daily, me, him and Tayski always managed
I went Hollywood for a year or two, I’m sorry, but I panicked
Tell your mama I send my love and we forever gon’ be a family
Big brother died at the club (Oh, woah), I don’t like to party or be around it (Woah, woah, woah)
I made a song called “Backdoor,” but I’m too real to even allow it,” Durk raps on the new single.
Notably, “Went Hollywood For A Year” is set to feature on Durk’s forthcoming studio album “Love Songs 4 the Streets 3” and serves as the follow-up to the LP’s lead single “Old Days”.

As reported earlier, Durk is strongly rumoured to collaborate with Karan Aujla.
The Punjabi emcee, who linked up with Durk, Ye & Ty Dolla $ign in Abu Dhabi earlier this year, is reportedly gearing up for his forthcoming studio album. The rappers are speculated to be working together for their debut effort on that LP.
However, Aujla is yet to confirm and reveal any further details about the collaboration.
