Punjabi Hip-Hop/Rap and Pop superstar AP Dhillon, born Amritpal Singh Dhillon, has announced his highly anticipated return to music. The hard-hitting emcee, recognised across the globe for his towering rap records “Brown Munde”, “Foreigns”, “Goat” and alternative pop synths “Insane”, the “Two Hearts Never Break The Same” EP and more, has just revealed his new single.

Titled “True Stories”, the single will feature a guest appearance by his frequent collaborator and close affiliate Shinda Kahkon and is slated to release on June 16, 2023. Just ahead of the single, Dhillon has premiered an exclusive preview across social media. Check it out here.

AP Dhillon’s new single arrives amidst Gurinder Gill’s extraordinary return to Punjabi rap music. Gill, who rose to worldwide prominence alongside Dhillon, Shinda Khalon and Punjabi Hip-Hop superproducer GMINXR, made a ruthless full-length debut “Hard Choices” earlier this month.

Released on June 9 2023, the “Hard Choices” rap record traverses 7 hard-hitting Punjabi rap records – “Wake Up”, “Network”, “Breathe”, “4 Bakyian”, “Forever”, the aptly titled “Lonestar” and “Moments”. As reported earlier, GG recruited Punjabi music superproducers Money Musik and GMINXR for the album.

As for AP, the “Toxic” rapper and pop superstar hasn’t released new music since October last year.

After having one of the most consistent runs in Punjabi music alongside Hip-Hop heavyweights Sidhu Moose Wala and Shubh, Dhillon took a brief hiatus from music and rather linked up with Hip-Hop superstars including Quavo and Nas during his global tour.

Dhllon’s last record “Two Hearts Never Break The Same” EP arrived on October 7 last year. The EP, which swiftly rose to become one of the finest Punjabi records to drop at the time, was preceded by evocative Hip-Hop and Pop records “Summer High”, the “Hidden Gems” EP, “Ma Belle”, his sprawling debut “Not By Chance” and “Brown Munde” of course.

Look out for AP Dhillon’s highly anticipated single ‘True Stories’ featuring Shinda Kahlon on June 16 2023.
