Amidst a turbulent album rollout and a slew of accusations around copyright violations, Punjabi Hip-Hop superstar Shubh has made his foray into the highly coveted Billboard Canadian Album Chart.
Shubh’s debut album “Still Rollin” has gained crucial momentum and entered the Billboard chart at the 16th spot.
Notably, the development arrives amidst Punjabi Hip-Hop superproducer Thiara, who has led the sound engineering on Shubh’s breakthrough rap records “No Love”, “Elevated”, “We Rollin” and “Offshore” in the past, alleged that the young rap pioneer has released “Dior” without his consent.
In fact, the producer confirmed that Shubh released the hard-hitting rap record without crediting him across platforms.
Shubh has now surpassed Drake & 21 Savage‘s wildly successful rap record “Her Loss” released last year. However, the “Baller” isn’t the first emcee to debut on the Billboard Canadian Chart by impeding global rap releases.
Earlier this year, Indian Hip-Hop superstars Badshah and Karan Aujla razed through the Billboard Hot 100 Canada Chart with “Players” and replaced “Circo Loco” by ‘Champagne Papi’ and 21 Savage.
As reported earlier, the hard-hitting Hip-Hop album is a hotly anticipated debut by an artist at the centre of global rap music. The album, which features an incendiary record production and Shubh’s most ruthless bars yet, arrived amidst high anticipation for Shubh’s new music across the globe.
Released on May 19, Shubh’s debut album features seven flagrant rap records – the self-titled “Still Rollin”, “Ice”, “Cheques”, “OG”, “Ruthless”, “Dior” and “The Flow”. With record production by Karan Kanchan on “OG” and “Ruthless”, the record portrays the global rap tall-figure’s top spot in it and “bridges the gap between India and Atlanta.”
