Punjabi Hip-Hop/Rap & Pop superstar Karan Aujla has finally confirmed his new single with Indian Hip-Hop pioneer Divine. The iconic Punjabi singer, who has often admired Divine’s music, has allegedly linked up with Nas‘ prodigy in Dubai for an exclusive visual cut of the forthcoming single.
The massive announcement, which arrives amidst historic career runs for Aujla & Divine, has stirred unprecedented anticipation for the sprawling Hip-Hop single ahead of next year.
While Aujla shut down New York & Washington D.C. and officially began his “Making Memories” world tour, Divine made his massive appearance at Nas’ 50th birthday party in New York.
Various cult figures in rap music, art and cinema attended the Caviar of Rap‘s star-studded birthday party. The towering list of guests included Kendrick Lamar or ‘Jojo Ruski’, Diddy, Fat Joe, Raekwon, cinema’s historic figure Robert De Niro, comedian Chris Rock, Havoc of the iconic Hip-Hop duo Mobb Deep, “N.Y. State of Mind” producer DJ Premier, Jadakiss, rap royalty Divine amongst various pioneers.
At the time, the Indian rap provocateur was touring globally as part of his trailblazing “Baazigar World Tour”. During his massive global tour, the mogul shut down Atlanta, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, London, Birmingham, Vancouver, Toronto, Sydney, Brisbane & more.
Most recently, Divine & late Hip-Hop pioneer Sidhu Moose Wala appeared on the historic rap single “Chorni”.
For many, Aujla & Moosa are considered two of the most influential Punjabi artists of our times. However, the flagrant emcees shared an infamous rap beef during the earliest days of their careers.
Notably, Aujla mourned the controversial death of Sidhu Moose Wala in March this year. During a far-reaching sit-down with eminent music and pop culture journalist Anupama Chopra, the Punjabi singer expressed his concerns and admitted that “it was not necessary to do all those things back then”.
“Everything that happened to Sidhu and his family just changed my perspective of looking at life and doing everything. “Like all that beef and all of it… it just doesn’t make sense,” Aujla said at the time.
Look out for Divine & Karan Aujla’s debut collaborative effort.
