Marquee British Grime & Drill group “House of Pharaohs” and legendary emcee & Boy Better Know affiliate JME have linked up on a new single. Titled “New Era”, the single is produced by the “That’s Not Me” rapper and serves as the debut collaborative effort between JME and U.K.’s rising black youth collective.

Notably, the House of Pharaohs is a consortium of British black youth and includes underground emcees Kevin Taylor, Blaze, Danny Stern, Bandanna, AJ and Sam Wise. The group first rose to prominence after Frank Ocean premiered their new track “RWM (Run With Me)” on his ‘Blonded Radio’ station in 2017.

“New Era” arrives alongside a provocative visual cut. Directed by Elliot Simpson, the visuals capture House of Pharaohs swerving through racial profiling and policing on the streets of London and Birmingham. Watch it below.

The “Man Don’t Care” rapper JME’s appearance on “New Era” arrives amidst his brother and the other half of “Boy Better Know” Skepta gearing up for his first album in nearly 5 years.

Titled “Knife & Fork”, the album arrives later this year and its lead single “Gas me Up (Diligent)” drops on January 26th.

Last week, Skepta was accused of referencing the holocaust in the track’s artwork and “disrespecting” the deaths of Jewish people in Nazi gas chambers during World War Two.

Skepta later took down the artwork and expressed that his intent was otherwise. The British emcee further expressed concerns over such vehement ‘policing of his art’.
