Indian Hip-Hop and R&B superstar King’s sophomore album ‘Champagne Talk’ has been played over a billion times across platforms. The iconic ‘Pablo’ emcee recently revealed the mega-success of the eight-track record via social media. A far-reaching Hip-Hop and Pop record, ‘Champagne Talk’ established King’s stature as one of the top-selling emcees in India’s burgeoning Hip-Hop scene.
However, King isn’t unfamiliar with having massive numbers on the board. Earlier this year, the legendary emcee became one of just three Indian Hip-Hop artists to surpass a billion streams on YouTube. Mumbai-based Emiway Bantai and Indian hip-hop royalty Badshah have accumulated over 3.2 and 1.7 Billion views on the video streaming and publishing platforms respectively.
Notably, ‘Champagne Talk’ amassed over 100 million Spotify streams within just two months of its official release. Last year, the ‘Pablo’ of Indian Hip-Hop was streamed over 300 million times on Spotify alone.
King’s is fresh off a verse on Karan Kanchan-produced single ‘Baap Aa Gaya Hai’ alongside Roll Rida. Earlier this month, King performed at the historic Wireless Festival alongside Gully Gang‘s bossman Divine, Travis Scott and Lil Uzi Vert.
