Divine And King Shut Down Ahmedabad, Become First Non-Film Independent Artists To Perform At IPL’s Final Ceremony

On Monday, May 29, Indian Hip-Hop superstars Divine and King shut down Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad, India. The artists, who have oftentimes performed at some of the biggest music festivals in India and across the globe, performed a hard-hitting live set at the Indian Premier League’s closing ceremony.

With this performance, Divine and King have become the only non-film Independent rappers to perform amidst the hotly anticipated final cricket match between M.S. Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings and Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans on Monday. Originally scheduled to perform on May 28, the performance was pushed a day further after heavy rains disrupted the match.

During his debut live set at Indian Premier League’s closing ceremony, Hip-Hop royalty Divine performed some of his biggest rap records including “Kohinoor”, “Mere Gully Mei”, “Sitara” alongside Jonita Gandhi, “3:59 A.M.”, “Baazigar” feat. Armani White and more. Further, Indian Hip-Hop superstar King performed his recent rap and pop records “Oops”, “Tu Aake Dekhle” and “Maan Meri Jaan” from ‘Champagne Talk’.
