Toronto’s iconic emcee and rap mogul Drake, born Aubrey Graham, has matched Michael Jackson’s Billboard Hot 100 Record For Most #1 Entries by a male artist. Reportedly, “First Person Shooter” – the 6th rap record on Drake’s 8th studio album “For All The Dogs” – has become the rapper’s 13th #1 entry on Billboard Hot 100.
Legendary Pop singer Michael Jackson set the record for most #1s by a male solo artist in 1995 with “You Are Not Alone.” Drake and Michael Jackson now share the title of 4th-most number 1 songs on Billboard Hot 100.
As per Pitchfork, The Beatles hold the overall record with 20, followed by Mariah Carey with 19 and Rihanna with 14.
Produced by Boi-1da, COLEMAN, FNZ, OZ, Tay Keith and Vinylz, “First Person Shooter” features a flagrant guest verse by J. Cole.
For Cole, the fiery record serves as his first Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 too. Besides “First Person Shooter”, IDGAF featuring Yeat, “Virginia Beach”, “Calling For You” featuring 21 Savage, “Daylight” and “Fear of Heights” have cracked top ten.
Last year, Drake matched Jay-Z’s historic record for the highest number of top-charting LPs on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop albums with 14 such entries.
Elsewhere, “For All The Dogs” LP has become Drake’s 13th No. 1 Album on Billboard Top 200 too.
