Los Angeles, California’s historic rap record label Roc Nation, owned by legendary emcee and business mogul Jay-Z, has reportedly teamed up with the massive sportswear brand Puma for an exclusive “Hip-Hop 50 Mixtape”.
Titled “Humble Soles”, the mixtape will be the second such effort in their iconic mixtape series. Reportedly, the “Humble Soles” mixtape series will bring together Hip-Hop and streetwear through the record label’s hard-hitting new signees and rap record producers.
Most recently, Roc Nation and PUMA debuted a mixtape roundtable with former Roc-A-Fella Records A&R, Wayne “Wayno” Clark with platinum recording artist and producer DJ Clue, leading media personality Nyla Symone, Harlem rapper Jim Jones, southern hip hop pioneer DJ OG Ron C, mixtape mogul DJ Holiday, and creative visionary serving as Roc Nation’s Senior Vice President Lenny “Lenny S.” Santiago.

Besides releasing the mixtape roundtable, Roc Nation has further revealed the first “super trailer” for the “Humble Soles” mixtape. You can watch it here.
The mixtape is slated to drop this summer.
“I feel like the young talent we have on this Mixtape is part of the future but more importantly they are all humble souls. Being humble sometimes helps you find that greatness within. It helped me put myself in this position to be able to do this project. It’s an honour and a pleasure to now call this our Mixtape!” Emory Jones, executive producer of “Humble Soles”, said about the project.
While Roc Nation fell short of dropping any names on the project, fans anticipate Jay-Z’s contribution to the mixtape through new music.
The rapper, who recently performed at Pharrell William’s Louis Vuitton Afterparty in Paris, dropped “New York (Concept De Paris)” in April. As reported earlier, the track sampled Heron’s “New York Is Killing Me” and serves as an engrossing rendition of Hov’s top-selling work “Empire State of Mind” alongside Alicia Keys.
Roc Nation is, or once was at a certain point in time, home to marquee Hip-Hop acts including J. Cole, Lil Uzi Vert, Rihanna, Big Sean, Jay Park and more.
The label represented and managed Philadelphia’s legendary rapper Meek Mill before he parted ways with the label last year. Reportedly, Mill accused the coveted record label of “not promoting” his recent album “Expensive Pain”.
“They didn’t put nothing into expensive pain and then said I can’t drop another project for 9 months at the end of my contract after I made them 100’s of millions…how would can anybody survive that…most rappers can’t speak because they depend on these companies “I don’t”,” Big Milli said at the time.
