Indian rap superstar Dino James has returned with his first single this year. Titled “Dil Lena Khel”, the flagrant single samples legendary Indian music director R.D. Burman‘s classic composition from 1981 “Dil Lena Khel Hai Dildar Ka” and marks James’ debut foray into British drill music.

The single, released through coveted record label Def Jam Recordings India, arrives amidst James joining forces with legendary Indian emcee Badshah, Ikka and rising pop singer Nidhi Wagle on “Naraaz” from “Ek Tha Raja” LP.

Ahead of the incendiary single, James released an exclusive preview for his fans via Instagram. Check it out below.

With “Dil Lena Khel”, Dino James joins a select tier of Indian rap superstars who have sampled compositions from Hindi Cinema and turned them into a massive drill heater.

Most recently, Indian rap royalty Kr$na & Karachi’s superproducer Umair sampled “Mera Joota Hai Japani” from the 1955 film “Shree 420”. Originally performed by legendary playback singer Mukesh, Kr$na’s lethal drill rendition “Joota Japani” stirred waves across India and Japan upon its release.

“Joota Japani” was preceded by Dolla $ign‘s labelmate Raftaar joining forces with the fierce rapper on “Woh Raat” single. The hard-hitting drill record arrived on Raftaar’s 35th birthday via Mass Appeal.

James is yet to release an exclusive visual cut for “Dil Lena Khel”. However, the trailblazing “Chosen” premiered a hard-hitting lyric video for the single.
