Philadelphia’s legendary young emcee and record producer Lil Uzi Vert, born Symere Bysil Woods, has finally announced their highly anticipated album “Pink Tape”. The album, which serves as the follow-up to Uzi’s megasuccessful project “Eternal Atake”, arrives after nearly three years.
Reportedly, Vert will release their album this Friday, June 30th. Ahead of the Pink Tape, Lil Uzi Vert linked up with Hip-Hop’s legendary filmmaker Gibson Hazard for the “Pink Tape” short film.
In November last year, Hazard linked up with Atlanta’s iconic superproducer Metro Boomin for the “Heroes & Villains” short film. The film featured the now-incarcerated rapper Young Thug, YSL affiliate Gunna, Morgan Freeman and LaKeith Stanfield at the time.
Hazard’s iconic rap trailer was preceded by Uzi’s “Just Wanna Rock” music video which has become a cult Hip-Hop film since its release. Watch the “Pink Tape Official Trailer” here.
Uzi’ third LP arrives after a massive wait of over three years. In January this year, Vert confirmed that their LP might “drop before tour” and hinted at a February release. However, that didn’t materialise.
As reported earlier, Uzi Vert first confirmed the highly anticipated record The Pink Tape during an IG live in December 2020. In March this year, Vert teased and previewed new music with the “Popular” emcee Playboi Carti.
At the time, Uzi’s move stirred unprecedented conversations on social media since the two rappers are reportedly sitting on the “Sixteen X Twenty-Nine” Mixtape which has over 40 unreleased rap records.
