In the past few days, legendary Long Beach, California emcee Snoop Dogg, born Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., shocked his fans across social media after he announced sobriety. The iconic Death Row Records CEO, known for his cult rap records and well, a longtime advocacy of cannabis use, asserted that he has parted ways with “the Chronic” citing health concerns.
“After much consideration & conversation with my family, I’ve decided to give up smoke,” Dogg said in an Instagram post leaving fans divided over his decision.

However, the Hip-Hop tall figure hasn’t quite left cannabis. Rather, he has laid down plans for “smoke-free” marijuana usage. Reportedly, the veteran emcee has partnered with Solo Stove – a Texas headquartered company which lets Uncle Snoop take the edge off without “the coughing” and his “clothes smelling all sticky icky.”
If you’re wondering, no, Snoop Dogg won’t stop smoking weed. Watch the announcement below via X, formerly Twitter.
