Indian Hip-Hop’s iconic emcee, record producer and songwriter has released his latest single. Titled “Thappad!”, the record is produced by Fantom and arrives after Prabhdeep’s hard-hitting debut at Coke Studio Bharat. Interestingly, the record is his first single after two full-length LPs and the “PRAA” EP.
Earlier this month, Prabhdeep teased the record numerous times and announced that he will link up with his listeners, DJs, sneaker heads, graffiti artists, fashion enthusiasts and small business owners for the track’s visual treatment as well.
The ‘Bhram’ emcee has been making major moves across 2023 so far. In March, Prabhdeep linked up with top-selling rap artists including Kalamkaar’s bossman Raftaar, Seedhe Maut‘s Calm & Encore, GD 47, Ahmer and more on ‘Bhram Deluxe’.
The hard-hitting LP arrived after Prabh’s debut collaborative effort with Raftaar. Titled “PRAA”, the four-track EP is home to Indian rap classics ‘Trap Praa’, ‘Hello’, ‘Badnaam’ and ‘Abbu’. The EP was followed by Prabhdeep’s avant-garde debut at this year’s Coke Studio Bharat.
Notably, this is Prabhdeep’s debut independent single. After linking up with Desi Hip-Hop Inc. in 2015, the Delhi-based emcee released “Chi Chi” alongside MC Heam. However, Prabh’s body of work has been associated with Azadi Records since then.
