Indian rap mogul Raftaar, born Kalathil Kuzhiyil Devadasan Dilin Nair, has released his massive “Hard Drive” sequel. Titled “Hard Drive Vol. 2”, the flagrant LP arrives via the coveted record label Mass Appeal and “War Cry” emcee’s rap powerhouse Kalamkaar.
Traversing 9 tracks, the LP features guest verses by rap pioneer Badshah, Ikka, former labelmate Karma, Sikander Kahlon, EPR Iyer and Yashraj.
Besides the top-tier guest appearances, the lethal “Hard Drive” sequel features production by Deep Kalsi, Sez On The Beat and Phenom.
While Raftaar’s ardent fans have expressed deep admiration for the project, a strong faction of Indian rap music has begun to push for an extended version of the LP with a verse by Kr$na too.
On his 35th birthday last year, Raftaar linked up with the “Role Model” rapper on the massive drill single “Woh Raat”. At the time, the iconic collaboration arrived via Mass Appeal as well.
Raftaar has yet to comment.
Through the LP, Raftaar further pays homage to legendary emcee DMX, Eminem, The Game, Lupe Fiasco and Bohemia.
“@iambohemia @losangelesconfidential@dmx @eminem @lupefiasco
I bow down in respect to the idols who inspired me to be who I am and Raftaar’s Pariwaar for making me who I am,” the Kalamkaar label boss wrote ahead of releasing the massive sequel.
