Lawrence Bishnoi, the key accused in the controversial murder of Sidhu Moose Wala alongside Goldie Brar, has been hospitalised after his health deteriorated in the past few days. Reportedly, Bishnoi was rushed to Faridkot Medical Hospital from prison in Bathinda, Punjab.
Lawrence Bishnoi’s deteriorating health is one of the latest breakthroughs in Moose Wala’s sensational murder case. The legendary Punjabi rapper, who recently linked up with Indian Hip-Hop royalty Divine on “Chorni”, was shot dead by the Lawrence Bishnoi-Kala Jathedi-Goldy Brar gang and succumbed to over 27 gun wounds on May 29th, 2022.
Notably, Bishnoi’s gang supports at least 700 lethal shooters across India.
In February this year, at least two gangsters, accused in Moosa’s murder, Mandeep Singh alias Toofan of Batala and Manmohan Singh alias Mohna were killed in Goindwal Sahib Central Jail in Punjab’s Tarn Taran district.
Reportedly, the gangsters died after a clash ensued between the prison inmates over “some matter” which later resulted in a full-blown brawl.
Bishnoi is kept under medical supervision amidst high security.
Sidhu Moose Wala‘s family, survived by his parents Balkaur Singh Sidhu and Charan Kaur Ji, is yet to receive justice. While Bishnoi is jailed in Bathinda, Goldie Brar is still out on the run and is presently believed to be in Toronto, Canada.
In April this year, Punjabi Hip-Hop superstar Karan Aujla drew criticism for allegedly linking up with Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother Anmol Bishnoi during a high-profile wedding in California.
After receiving scathing criticism, Aujla later expressed concerns over the mishap and asserted that he and Sharry Maan, another Punjabi singer who performed at the event, weren’t “aware” of the “questionable individual” attending the event.
“I didn’t think I needed to but after seeing so many posts and messages I just want to clarify about an event on Sunday in Bakersfield, CA. As artists, I and Sharry Maan bai were booked to perform for a reception show as requested by our common friend. As an artist, we are not aware who is attending Or invited to the wedding shows we are booked for, hence why I prefer not to do many wedding shows at all,” Aujla said in a statement.
Earlier today, Karan Aujla announced his highly anticipated album “Making Memories”.
More on the story as it unfolds.
For many, Moose Wala represented the voice of an unheard generation. When Punjabi rap music was mired by commercial music and unnerving underpinnings of female galore, sex and self-absorbing flexes, Moosa breathed pure confidence into the often overlooked sub-genre.
While his hard-hitting pieces of music “Burberry”, “Bitch I’m Back”, “So High”, “Moosedrilla”, “GOAT”, “The Last Ride” and more paved the way for Punjabi gangsta rap music – a crucial Hip-Hop sub-genre lost after Yo Yo Honey Singh’s cult classic “International Villager”, Moose Wala‘s “Sidhu Son”, “295”, “Game”, “Selfmade” and “Aroma” were an evocative dive into the lives of a Punjabi artist who is often misunderstood.
