Mumbai’s historic Hip-Hop act 7Bantai’z has linked up with underground rap record producer Captain Fuse for a hard-hitting single. Titled “EL Chapo”, the track draws inspiration from “the notorious” Joaquín El Chapo Guzmán and features the ‘Dharavi United’ spitting out flagrant bars over Fuse’s incendiary record production.
The track fittingly samples West Coast Hip-Hop pioneer and poet Tupac Shakur.
“Everybody Rap. We don’t rap. We rap to make money. We do business,” Shakur can be heard in the record’s fiery intro.
Notably, “El Chapo” serves as the follow-up to 7Bantai’z’s sprawling EP “Into The Slum”. Released on December 13th 2022, the EP is home to numerous ‘Bombay Rap’ classics including “Energy”, “Whole Squad”, “Bambaiya Swad” and more.
“El Chapo” is released alongside an evocative visual treatment. Directed by Vaibhav Nirmalkar, the visuals capture 7Bantai’z’s frontmen in the ghettos of Mumbai.
