Indian Hip-Hop superstar Karan Aujla, often referred to as ‘Geetan Di Machine’, has expressed concerns over his alleged association with Sidhu Moose Wala’s murderer. While performing at a high-profile wedding ceremony next to Sharry Maan in California, Aujla was seen next to Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother Anmol Bishnoi.
Reportedly, Lawrence Bishnoi and his brother played a crucial role in Moose Wala’s ill-fated murder in May last year. Soon after Aujla’s intimate live set, numerous videos began to circulate across social media. Sidhu Moose Wala’s fans, who have been spearheading a prolonged movement “#justiceforsidhumoosewala” on digital platforms, criticised Aujla for performing amidst Bishnoi’s presence.
After receiving scathing criticism, Aujla expressed concerns over the mishap and asserted that he and Sharry Maan weren’t “aware” of the “questionable individual” attending the event.
“I didn’t think I needed to but after seeing so many posts and messages I just want to clarify about an event on Sunday in Bakersfield, CA. As artists, I and Sharry Maan bai were booked to perform for a reception show as requested by our common friend. As an artist, we are not aware who is attending Or invited to the wedding shows we are booked for, hence why I prefer not to do many wedding shows at all,” Aujla said in a statement.
“It has been brought to my attention that a questionable individual was in the background of videos of me and Sharry bhai performing. I was not aware of whom that may be until I saw these posts and messages,” the emcee said.
“As an artist, I focus on my performance and leave the shows, I do not notice each and every person as there are many people around. I would also like to state, there were many cameras and phones constantly recording, and usually are where I am. I would never knowingly attend or associate myself with anything as such,” Aujla added.

Earlier this month, Sidhu Moose Wala released his third posthumous record “Mera Na” alongside Steel Banglez and Burna Boy. The Banglez-produced record remembers the slain rapper’s far-reaching influence on rap music and debuted at the 14th spot on Billboard Canadian Hot 100 chart.
Notably, Karan Aujla and Sidhu Moose Wala had their share of prolonged beef early on in their careers. However, the “On Top” emcee recently remembered the late Hip-Hop pioneer and gave Moosa his flowers.
During a March interview, Aujla admitted that “it was not necessary to do all those things (rap rivalry) back then” with Moose wala. “Everything that happened to Sidhu and his family just changed my perspective of looking at life and doing everything. Like all that beefs and all of it… it just doesn’t make sense,” he said.
Ever since Sidhu Moose Wala’s death, Aujla’s stature in Indian Hip-Hop has risen to unprecedented levels. For many, the young emcee has been playing a crucial role in pushing Punjabi Hip-Hop across the globe after Moose Wala was murdered on May 29th 2022.
