Indian Hip-Hop/Rap & Pop superstar King, real name Arpan Kumar Chandel, has announced the “Champagne Talk World Tour”. Slated to go down this year, the global tour follows King’s debut live set at Wireless Festival in Abu Dhabi in March this year.
At the two-day Wireless Festival, King performed alongside Indian Hip-Hop royalty Divine, Karachi’s Young Stunners and global rap pioneers Travis Scott and Lil Uzi Vert. Reportedly, King’s ‘Champagne Talk World Tour’ can begin as early as September this year.
The announcement arrives amidst the young emcee and former jury member at MTV Hustle gearing up for his next massive album. Earlier this month, King revealed his plans about releasing another top-selling record which will have “500 Million” streams by February 24 next year.
King further speculated that his next record will feature at least “3 songs in Billboard’s International Charts, 22-25 million listeners on Spotify, 8-12 million YouTube subscribers and 4 songs in Top 10”. Further, King has asserted that his album will be at the top spot in the country at the time.
The “Champagne Talk Global Tour” certainly seems in line with that plan. A global tour traversing the Indian diaspora might provide the necessary push required to achieve the statistics that King has planned out.
For the tour to be named after his most recent album and slated for September suggests that we won’t get a record from King until the end of his global tour. While King fell short of releasing any further details about the global tour, it might be one of the longest tour runs by an Indian artist. Ever since the release of “Champagne Talk” in October last year, King has been on the road.
Most recently, ‘Pablo’ performed a historic live set alongside Gully Gang’s bossman Divine at Indian Premier League’s closing ceremony. Read more about it here. Look out for King’s ‘Champagne Talk Global Tour’ in September this year.
