Breakthrough Punjabi emcee & filmmaker Raf Saperra, born Adeel Sardar Khan, has released his first independent single this year.
Titled “Patola”, the folk single is produced by DJ Jesta and marks Saperra’s first record since joining forces with Nas‘ coveted record label Mass Appeal for the “5 Deadly Venomz” EP.
“Patola” arrives within days after it was first premiered by Saperra at Yung Singh’s massive Boiler Room set in England. The single is preceded by the “Rolling Thunder” rapper’s hard-hitting track preview at this year’s Paris Fashion Week.

For the “Ruff Around The Edges” emcee, the single arrives amidst high anticipation for “Raw As Folk” tour and his Wireless Festival Debut in Abu Dhabi later this year. Further, aperra is set to join forces with M.I.A., JPEGMAFIA, Anderson .Paak & more at the Portola Festival in San Francisco in September. Check dates below.
In other news, Punjabi emcee AP Dhillon is gearing up for his forthcoming project “The Brownprint” with Republic Records.
Releasing at midnight, the much anticipated EP is set to feature guest appearances by Atlanta’s rap MVP Gunna, R&B singer Ayra Starr and legendary Punjabi singer Jazzy B.
