Indian Hip-Hop’s young superstar and former top contender of MTV Hustle, Paradox, born Tanishq Singh, has officially begun his EP’s rollout with Def Jam Recordings India. Earlier today, the iconic young emcee from Najafgarh, Delhi, released “Perfy” – the lead single from his long-awaited EP ‘The Unknown Letter’.
The visual, directed by New Delhi’s independent filmmaker Omansh Bhandari – professionally referred to as Postguru, is the first epic dive into Paradox’s deftly curated EP. Notably, the ‘Overthink’ emcee has confirmed that “Perfy” will be followed by two fresh records – “Hasti Reh Tu” and “Sirhana” on April 18th & May 11th respectively.
Paradox’s latest single is an abrupt yet affecting departure from his hard-hitting rap records including his MTV Hustle’s trap bangers “BT Ho Gayi” and “Chore NCR Wale” with MC Square.
However, Paradox’s fresh sound captures the young artist’s diverse perspective on music. Inspired by 90s slick discotheque and subtle elements of Pop R&B, Paradox has seemingly crafted a whole another lane for himself in the Indian Hip-Hop scene with “Perfy”. As the record progresses, it delves into classic rap snares and hard-hitting 808s.
Notably, the young emcee has built the project entirely by himself and leads the creative direction behind the album. As for Def Jam India, this is the label’s second release with a top contender from MTV Hustle.
Last year, the highly coveted label worked with Punjabi emcee GD 47 in a bid to push promising young rappers across India. 47 recently dropped his guest verse on Prabhdeep’s ‘Bhram’ Deluxe alongside Kalmkaar’s bossman Raftaar, Ikka, Seedhe Maut’s Calm & Encore ABJ and Kashmir’s ferocious emcee Ahmer.
