Karan Aujla Loses Millions in Spotify Streams, Cites Fake ‘52 Bars’ Uploads

Punjabi Hip-Hop’s global superstar has expressed concerns surrounding the fake uploads of his recent releases on Spotify. Citing the “false uploads” of 52 Bars – the lead single from his wildly successful ‘Four You’ EP – Aujla discussed his “disappointment” over Spotify being “unable to stop false uploads” of his track 52 Bars.

Aujla further shared on Twitter that the fake Spotify upload has over 3.6 million streams and currently sits in the ‘Top 50 India’ Chart on the platform. The rapper further urged Spotify India to “rectify” this alarming situation. Read Aujla’s statement about losing millions in streams below.

Released on February 4th 2023, the ‘Four You’ EP is Karan Aujla’s latest effort with the iconic Punjabi Hip-Hop record producer Ikky. The hard-hitting album includes Aujla’s biggest rap records yet including ’52 Bars’, ‘Take It Easy’, ‘Yeah Naah’ & ‘Falling Apart’. Ever since its release, the EP has furthered Aujla’s stature in the global Hip-Hop scene.

Notably, the lead single ’52 Bars’ was released just ahead of the EP alongside provocative Amrit Thind-directed visuals. Besides ’52 Bars’, Aujla linked up with Qarn Mallhi for ‘Take It Easy’ visuals too.

For many Hip-Hop listeners across the globe, Aujla is the most influential emcee of all time in the Punjabi hip-hop scene. Revered for his music, the artist stands next to some of the biggest icons in Punjabi music including the late Sidhu Moosewala, Diljit Dosanjh, Prem Dhillon and AP Dhillon.

Aujla – often referred to as ‘Geetan Di Machine’ owing to his top-selling Punjabi rap records across the globe – released his first single ‘Property of Punjab’ in 2016 which left a little room for doubting his pensive lyricism and an inherent capability to release hard-hitting rap records.
