Kolkata’s Influential Emcee J Trix Links Up With Subspace On ‘I Wish’ Single, Nears ‘Middle Class Boys’ EP With Def Jam India

Kolkata’s hard-hitting rapper and songwriter J Trix, real name Jaitley Bhardwaj, has just premiered the third single from his forthcoming “Middle Class Boys” EP with Def Jam Recordings India. Produced by his frequent collaborator Subspace, the “I Wish” single arrives amidst high anticipation for Trix’s multi-track effort.

Notably, the flagrant Hip-Hop record serves as the follow-up to the Subspace-produced single “Sexy”. Further, that single was preceded by J Trix’s massive collaboration with Indian Hip-Hop pioneer Ikka. Reportedly, the “Streets” emcee linked up with the legendary emcee on “Gundagardi” in June.

Ahead of its release, J Trix shared the “I Wish” artwork with his fans. Check it out below via X, formerly Twitter.

Besides releasing the incendiary audio at midnight, Trix has just premiered the epic visual treatment for the “I Wish” single. Directed by West Bengal’s rap filmmaker on the come-up Upasya Mukhopadhyay, the music video captures Trix’s lucid takeover of West Bengal’s evocative rap scene.

J Trix continues to release ruthless rap music this year. While the emcee is three singles deep into his forthcoming EP, Trix linked up with Subspace on the “Legacy” single where he took flagrant shots at “autotune rappers”.

That single served as the follow-up to Trix’s “Banger Pro Max” released in March. Through his impactful discography which includes over 40 singles and an EP, J Trix has risen to far-reaching prominence in the Indian rap scene and now helms Bengal’s enthralling rap capital.

Earlier this year, J Trix released Subspace-produced rap records “Blow Up” and “One & Only”.

Notably, “I Wish” is Def Jam Recordings India’s latest endeavour to push regional rap music in India. Besides Trix, the coveted rap record label teamed up with Pune’s Marathi emcee Sambata for his swift return to Hip-Hop.

Reportedly, Sambata linked up with Def Jam Recordings India on “Sod Lacharicha Paksh”.

Further, West Delhi’s provocative emcee, record producer and songwriter Chaar Diwaari made his major label debut with “Violence” featuring Bombay Lokal‘s ferocious rapper Gravity.

On 11 August 2023, Def Jam Recordings India left an unprecedented impact on Indian rap music through its star-studded “50 Years of Hip-Hop” concert across the Indian metropolis.
