Delhi’s affecting emcee, record producer and songwriter Fotty Seven, born Ankit Gudwani, has finally released his highly anticipated rap record “Tu Jo Na Hota”. The track, produced by the rapper himself, arrives after a long wait and is released through Def Jam Recordings India.
First announced in April this year, “Tu Jo Na Hota” is Fotty Seven’s abrupt departure from hard-hitting rap records and “forays into an immersive sound inspired by Latin rap.” The track and the visuals capture hopeless romanticism and Fotty’s “underlying vulnerability”.
Even at the time of announcing the single during his sit down with Rolling Stone India, Fotty revealed that his latest single won’t be “a rap record in its true sense”.
“It’s a massive shift for me in terms of musicality and lyricism. It’s a whole other Fotty Seven that you never saw coming,” Fotty added.

For Fotty, “Tu Jo Na Hota” serves as the follow-up to his recently released EP “But I Like It”. Earlier this year, the “You Know The Drill” rapper further hinted at his debut full-length rap album. However, Fotty is yet to reveal any further details about his album.
Released through Def Jam Recordings India, “Tu Jo Na Hota” follows J Trix’s hard-hitting rap record “Gundagardi” with the coveted record label. Featuring Indian rap pioneer Ikka, the track serves as the lead single from Trix’s upcoming “Middle Class Boys” EP.
