Southern India’s influential Hip-Hop record producer Parimal Shais, or bassdroppingalien, has announced his huge new single with Def Jam Recordings India.
Titled “Ayyayyo”, the track is slated to feature guest verses by Southside’s finest Hanumankind and ThirumaLi. Further, the forthcoming rap record will feature an appearance by another Southern emcee on the come-up MC Couper.
As per Shais, the single is slated to drop on September 14. For the flagrant record producer and Hanumankind, “Ayyayyo” marks their sophomore single with Def Jam India. The marquee Bengaluru-based artists linked up on incendiary rap single “Go To Sleep” earlier this year.
Most recently, Parimal Shais & Hanumankind linked up with Raga, Gravity, Rawal, Chaar Diwaari, Irfana, Killa K, DHP & more at Def Jam Recordings India’s historic “50 Years of Hip-Hop” concert across Bengaluru, Delhi-NCR and Mumbai.
Besides the sprawling announcement, Shais shared the exclusive “Ayyayyo” artwork with his fans. You can check it out below.
For HMK, “Ayyayyo” will mark his slight return to rap music after a brief hiatus. The “Damnson” emcee and songwriter hasn’t released new music since January after he dropped his major label debut “Go To Sleep”.
For many, ThirumaLi is one of the most influential emcees in South India. The Malayali emcee, recognised for his provocative choppa flow and vivid storytelling, teamed up with Shais on various rap records on “Kumari Kandam Traps, Vol. 1” LP in the earliest days of his Hip-Hop career.
With the unprecedented announcement, Def Jam Recordings India now joins another major Hip-Hop label in pushing Southern India’s rap music to the forefront. As reported earlier, Mass Appeal India has partnered up with Kerala’s flagrant rappers Baby Jean, Vedan and Dabzee.
Earlier this year, Parimal Shais and Killa K linked up on “Superstar” single. Listen to it below.
Look out for ‘Ayyayyo’ by Parimal Shais featuring ThirumaLi, Hanumankind and MC Couper on September 14th 2023.
