Delhi’s fierce emcee & former MTV Hustle rap royalty Paradox, born Tanishq Singh, and veteran Indian singer Afsana Khan have teamed up on a new single. Titled “Biodata”, the flagrant Haryanvi drill single arrives amidst Paradox’s massive India tour and is the debut collaborative effort between the two artists.
Notably, “Biodata” is the third Haryanvi drill single this week. Yesterday, Haryanvi rap icon MC Square linked up with British producers Alan Sampson & ADP for “Gurjari”. Released via Def Jam Recordings India, the single arrived within one day after Indian rap superstar Badshah and Haryanvi singer Uchana Amit dropped “Koi Na”.
Paradox & Khan’s collaboration furthers the dominance of regional rap music across India. Last month, another fierce emcee from Delhi Raga and DG Immortals released “Kheench Maari” – the lead single from their forthcoming joint EP “Midtown Madness”.
Further, Khan pays tribute to legendary slain emcee Sidhu Moose Wala on the single. The singer, who worked with Moosa on two flagrant records – “Unf—-withable” on Moosetape LP and “Dhakka” – released the track alongside an epic visual cut which opens with a message for Sidhu.
“Your journey from rags to riches will always remain engraved in our hearts” the opening titles read. Watch the hard-hitting music video below.
Khan & Paradox’s tribute to Sidhu Moose Wala arrives amidst numerous Hip-Hop superstars remembering the slain emcee since his controversial death in Punjab last year.
In November, Melbourne-bred Punjabi singer and rapper Khush Romana remembered Moose on another evocative drill single “Schema”.
It was preceded by Badshah paying his historic tribute to Sidhu Moose Wala amidst his massive performance at Wembley Arena, in London. Punjabi rap superstar Karan Aujla remembered Moosa at The Kris Fade Show at the time.
As reported earlier, pop superstar and another legendary emcee Post Malone, “For All The Dogs” rapper Drake, U.K.’s iconic R&B singer and emcee Stefflon Don, Grammy-nominated rapper Raja Kumari, Burna Boy, Tion Wayne, MIST, Raftaar and Mumbai’s legendary “Chorni” emcee Divine have remembered Moosa in the past too.
Rest in Peace, Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu.
