Indian Hip-Hop superstar and Gully Gang’s prime rap royalty Divine, born Vivian Wilson Fernandes, has finally announced his posthumous rap record with the late Punjabi rap pioneer Sidhu Moose Wala.
Titled “Chorni”, the single drops this week and arrives amidst high anticipation for Moosa’s posthumous records across the globe.
Notably, Divine first previewed the single in January this year. While performing his hard-hitting live set at Lollapalooza India, the legendary rapper previewed “Chorni” alongside Gully Gang’s top filmmaker JD and Hip-Hop superproducer Karan Kanchan.
Divine’s official announcement arrives amidst high anticipation for “Dilemma” by legendary British emcee Stefflon Don. On June 28, 2023, the “47” emcee previewed the flagrant rap record with Moose Wala during an Instagram live.
In fact, Moosa’s longtime collaborator and London’s superproducer Steel Banglez, born Pahuldip Singh Sandhu, is gearing up for his sophomore posthumous effort with Sidhu Moose Wala “Attached” this year too.
Mumbai’s Hip-Hop tall figure Divine, who recently previewed new music, was close to, perhaps, the greatest Punjabi rapper and singer to ever do it. The “Traffic Jam” rapper has often remembered Moosa during his live sets.
Most recently, Divine gave Moosa his flowers during his historic live set in Ahmedabad. His tribute arrived amidst numerous rap pioneers giving Moosa his flowers including Stefflon Don, legendary Nigerian emcee Burna Boy, Tion Wayne, MIST and “For All The Dogs” emcee Drake.
Notably, this isn’t the first time that Divine and Moose Wala have teamed up for a rap record. Besides “Chorni”, Moosa and Divine have worked together on The Kidd-produced “Moosedrilla” from Moose Wala’s sprawling LP “Moosetape”.
“Chorni” arrives just ahead of Divine’s first global tour. As reported earlier, the emcee is slated to perform in Australia and New Zealand this year.
Look out for Divine’s highly anticipated rap record ‘Chorni’ featuring Sidhu Moose Wala this week.
