Breaking: Kshmr Begins ‘Karam’ LP Rollout With Mass Appeal, Drops ‘Haath Varthi’ Lead Single F/ MC Stan and Phenom

Electronic Dance and Trap music pioneer Kshmr, born Niles Hollowell-Dhar, has begun the rollout of his highly anticipated Indian rap album “Karam”.

Releasing through India’s coveted rap record label Mass Appeal, the record producer has unveiled the lead single “Haath Varthi”. Featuring a guest verse by Indian rap superstar MC Stan, the hard-hitting record features guest production from the TDO affiliate Phenom ‘the Don’.

The record arrives amidst soaring anticipation for Kshmr’s star-studded rap album. Notably, “Haath Varthi” is released alongside incendiary visuals featuring the ‘P-Town’ superstar and marks Stan’s first appearance in a music video after a long hiatus.

The “Basti Ka Hasti” rapper, who has been at the centre of pop culture and far-reaching media coverage since his landslide win at one of India’s leading reality TV shows, hasn’t put out new music since his third ground-breaking studio album “Insaan”.

Reportedly, the visuals are directed by Gully Gang’s iconic filmmaker JD. The Mumbai-based director is behind some of Divine’s massive visuals from the “Gunehgar” LP and has been a day-one collaborator with the emcee.

Some of his most notable works with Divine include the recently released “Traffic Jam”, “Akela”, “Gunehgar” and “Bornfire” feat. Russ. Besides the recent premieres with the Indian Hip-Hop royalty, JD has further filmed iconic rap music videos including “Satya”, “Mirchi” feat. MC Altaf, “Nahi Pata” feat. Shah Rule, Sammohit and Frenzzy, “Vibe Hai” and “Kohinoor”.

By linking up with India’s finest Hip-Hop artists on the lead single, the “Karam” LP sure looks promising and just might be the biggest rap record in Indian rap music this year.
