Breaking: Disturbing Video of an Indian Policeman Referring To Sidhu Moose Wala As ‘A Terrorist’ Surfaces Online

As the world continues to mourn the infamous murder of Punjabi Hip-Hop pioneer Sidhu Moose Wala, a disturbing video of an Indian Policeman referring to Moosa as ‘a Terrorist’ has surfaced online.

The short clip, whose authenticity was further confirmed by Punjab-based journalist Gagandeep Singh, captures the Jamshedpur-bred policeman referring to a youth’s motorcycle which featured Moose Wala’s photograph as a tribute.

“You consider Sidhu Moose Wala an idol? He is a Terrorist,” the cop, affiliated with Jharkhand Police Administration, can be heard saying in the clip. As per Singh, Jharkhand Police has initiated an enquiry against the “erring cop”.

Across his sprawling rap career, Moose Wala was often touted as a ‘separatist’ and a sympathizer of Punjab’s pro-separatist movement by India’s notorious right-wing media. However, Moosa isn’t the first Punjabi artist who is meted out with such disturbing statements.

Last week, AP Dhillon was flagrantly trolled on Meta’s Instagram after he performed in Delhi and Mumbai amidst the star-studded premiere of his documentary series “AP Dhillon: First of A Kind”.

Further, a huge faction of Indian listeners of Punjabi music attempted to cancel Shubh‘s sprawling debut album ‘Still Rollin’ upon its release.

During our coverage of Diljit Dosanjh’s massive set at Coachella, numerous fans stormed our Twitter and expressed their dissatisfaction over associating Dosanjh‘s historic set as a proud moment for Indian & Punjabi culture across the globe.

Soon after the video went viral on X, Moose Wala’s father Balkaur Singh Sidhu expressed his concerns over ‘defaming’ his son and called for a written apology from Jharkhand police.

“How can a Police Officer call my son a terrorist? He was an artist of world repute. If the officer didn’t know whose photo it was, how can he defame Sidhu Moose Wala who actually gave so much to India on the world stage,” Singh wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Ever since his death, Moose Wala continues to be remembered by global rap’s tall figures including DrakeBurna BoyDivineTion Wayne, Raja Kumari, MIST and British rap superproducer Steel Banglez.

Earlier this year, Birmingham’s legendary woman emcee Stefflon Don visited Moose Wala’s home in Mansa, Punjab on his birthday. During her brief stay, Don paid her respects to Sidhu’s parents and is now gearing up her sophomore effort “Dilemma” with the legendary late rapper.

Most recently, Moose Wala linked up with Divine on “Chorni”. The track, which was preceded by Moose’s affecting record “Mera Na” with Afro-rap superstar Burna Boy, became the highest charting Indian Hip-Hop record at the Billboard Canada Hot 100 this year.

Rest in Peace, Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu.
