Atlanta’s Hip-Hop superproducer Metro Boomin, born Leland Tyler Wayne, has confirmed that his debut joint album with Hip-Hop and Trap pioneer Future is on the way. Boomin, who recently performed a star-studded set at Coachella, shared an exclusive set of photographs with Future from his live set and announced that a “Metro Pluto” album is ‘on the way.’
Notably, Metro Boomin first confirmed the joint LP during a conversation with Flaunt Magazine. During the interview, the ATL superproducer expressed his interest in working with Future on a joint album.
“You know, Pluto, that’s my brother. We’ve been at it for a long time. This whole superhero moment, it’s like the beginning of our phase two. We haven’t had a song out since ‘Mask Off,’ they’ve been on our heads. With this, and then the whole State Farm thing, it’s starting to slowly put people on notice: we crankins that shit back up too,” Boomin said at the time.
Boomin is fresh off his top-selling sophomore solo LP “Heroes & Villains”. The 15-track record, which is a part of the now-confirmed ‘Boominati’ trilogy, features guest appearances from John Legend, Future, Chris Brown, Travis Scott, Don Toliver, 21 Savage, Young Nudy, The Weeknd, A$ap Rocky, Takeoff and Gunna.
Upon its release, the joint album will serve as the follow-up to the “Monster” mixtape. Released on October 26th 2014, the mixtape was the debut full-length effort between Young Metro and Future and led to high anticipation for a collaborative studio effort by the Hip-Hop stars.
Look out for Metro Boomin and Future’s debut collaborative effort this year.
